The help Dr. Laura Purdy provided was wonderful. She made an impossibly emotional experience bearable. Bella was that one pet that had our hearts more than any other we’ve ever had. And, she was trying hard to be that wonderful dog all the way to the end, but it was time for us to let her go, and she had a wonderful 9 years with us. Cancer is the most insidious of illnesses, and I still cannot grasp why the innocents of animals should be attacked by it.

It was a peaceful, humane, professional way to say goodbye to Bella. Laura helped us as much as she helped Bella. We’ve been through this before, but never at home, and we would never do it any other way again.

The tears and longing will eventually subside, but we will always miss and never forget our little love, Bella.

We wanted to thank Dr. Christine for her compassionate care of Paige with in-home euthanasia. We have been devastated by Paige’s cancer and needing to end her life. But Dr. Christine was so kind and understanding, and helped us as we said goodbye to Paige. And we appreciated her veterinarian skills in ensuring a smooth and peaceful transition for Paige. Thank you for the service you provide, and for being with us in such a sorrowful time.

I wanted to reach out to tell you how impressed I was with Dr Kit today. She made Carley and myself feel cared for, listened to and loved. Despite the ugly weather she was there for us and handled it with dignity & professionalism, while also showing kindness & caring. Carley was a very timid rescue dog who didn’t warm up to people right away, but she was completely comfortable with Dr. Kit. While the experience is still fresh I am working through it because it was so peaceful. I know it was the right thing to do and I have no doubt it was the perfect person and process to do it. Thank you so much, your job is tough but you do it so well! Carley is free of pain and playing with her friends who were there to welcome her.

I can not say enough about the genuine compassion and emotional support Dr. Laura exuded when she visited my home this weekend. She immediately gave me a sense of peace and reassurance that I was so in need of in making this very difficult decision. The whole experience was handled with kindness, dignity and a spiritual grace. I have such respect and a deep sense of gratitude towards Journeys Home that I can not adequately express it through words. Dr. Laura Purdy is truly an angel on earth and has given me the gift to someday consider opening my heart to another kitty in my home, which I had sworn I would never do after all Cleo’s tests and treatments. Thank you for giving me hope.

Thank you for being so wonderful and understanding, and always making a very difficult time a little easier. You have helped Earl, Katia, and Austin pass peacefully, and have been there for me with a hug and understanding that just means so much.

Thank you so much. Your kindness (And Dr. Laura), means more than I can express. I refer you to all my friends with pets, and always encourage them to consider home euthanasia.

Our little rat terrier Simon finally was too sick from liver cancer to keep going. We have had our last 2 dogs euthanized at home using our regular vets. This time they did not have time to come out to our home and suggested Journey Home. Our vet called them to plan his meds with their visit. Dr Laura was able to do an evening appointment that same day which was nice because we were all as ready as we could be. She was so caring and compassionate and walked us through the difficult process. She was so gentle with our little boy. We really appreciated it.

Dr. Katie was a relief to a chaotic and sudden illness, literally overnight as far as any signs or symptoms, of our beloved and young dog, Kyra. My vet did all of the blood work and sent me home with a dying dog; she was suffering from Lime Tick Nephritis, i.e.-sudden kidney failure (in spite of religious use of Frontline). We snuggled our dog the whole night as she seemed peaceful and still alert. My husband refused to bring her in to an emergency vet hospital for euthanasia due to the anxiety that an unfamiliar environment would evoke in Kyra. Dr. Katie came from Madison to Janesville within hours of our call and helped us to comfort our dog while she peacefully fell asleep on our deck listening to birds and squirrels. Kyra seemed at peace although we are still in shock; however, we feel solace that she was able to go being embraced in her favorite setting with all of our love. Dr. Katie was gentle, empathetic and mindful of us… she really cared.

We want to express our immense gratitude to Dr. Laura for coming to our house this past Monday on Oct 2, 2017. She helped our beautiful boy, Jake, pass peaceful in our living room. Everything Dr. Laura did and said was perfect that day. I was frantic that morning because of the big task ahead to figure out how to handle this transition.

One simple phone call with Dr. Laura was all it took to begin the process. She came to our house exactly when we needed her. She was so gentle and loving with our Jake and that meant the world to us. She was also so perceptive to our emotions and handled herself in perfect response to what we were needing at this time. She gave the right amount of information during the process so we knew exactly what to expect from beginning to end.

Thank you, thank you, thank you. We are forever grateful. We hope any else losing a pet can have the same heartfelt care that we got from Dr. Laura that day. We will never forget our Jake and will also never forget the compassion we felt that day from Journey’s Home. Thank you Dr. Laura.
