Thank you to Dr. Laura Purdy for coming to our home on short notice and helping our family navigate losing Noodles. Your graciousness helped give us some peace in knowing she passed comfortably at home with the family who love her.

Thank you so much for providing this service. It meant a lot to us to have Panther pass away in the comfort of his own home. He’s always disliked going to the vet, and I’d like to think that he was as comfortable as we could make him at the end… near his things, with familiar smells, surrounded by people who loved him.

Also, thank you so much for the paw print. Didn’t know how much it would mean to us until we started to clean things up. You were wonderful the entire time you were there. Thanks again.

There are no words to describe how thankful we were to send our best friend home while at home. He chose the location, a sunny spot in the lining room and his best friend came to snuggled with him. Grady left us knowing he was surrounded by love.

It was very clear from the beginning that Dr. Catie from Journeys Home was there for us as much as Grady. Journeys Home makes it okay to mourn your pet.

THANK YOU, THANK YOU, THANK YOU FOR YOUR COMPASSIONATE CARE.

Dr. Laura Purdy returned my phone call promptly on a Saturday morning and made an appointment to come to our home as our dear old cat, Zeus, had not eaten and had not drunk his water for days and had not eliminated any wastes either. He was hiding out under our king-size bed and was not to be cuddled. We were sure that it was “his time”… years ago we waited too long. I didn’t want that to happen again.

Dr. Purdy assured me that she would examine Zeus to be sure I was not incorrect in my judgment that it was “his time”. When she arrived, she brought Zeus out of his hiding place, examined him and told me that I was indeed correct, which made me feel REALLY good.

I would recommend you to anyone who has a loving pet at the end of his or her life. It was so wonderfully peaceful and “kind”. Zeus hated being put in a cage and taken to the vet – his hair would fall out, he would scream, and he would hyperventilate! And he hated all barking dogs at the vet who scared him so much! How wonderful that he passed with calm and gentle serenity.

Thank you, thank you!! I really like the idea of the “Quality of Life Scale”. I have worked at and volunteered at several veterinary clinics and animal shelters and have seen the result of nobody wanting to make a decision regarding euthanasia. Animals suffer while people take months to make decisions. Quality of life always trumps quantity of life in my opinion. Pet owners would say “I hope they go in their sleep”. That RARELY happens. At the animal shelter we had many pets surrendered because of age/health issues, and owners not wanting to make the decision to euthanize. The majority of those pets had to be euthanized, in a strange and noisy place, and by euthanasia techs, not Veterinarians. Your pets are dependent on you – they deserve a dignified and pain-free exit from this world.

Thank you so much Dr. Katie for allowing Zeppelin to go with dignity surrounded by his family. We are so grateful to you. Our hearts are still hurting but know in time they will heal and become happy, loving memories of our sweet, old gentleman. Thank you!

I want to thank Katie for comforting me as much as my beautiful loyal best friend Brutus in his final moments. And letting me go at my own pace with the hardest decision I have ever had to make.Your kindness was greatly appreciated.

I wanted you to know how much I appreciated your recent service. It was a difficult decision to make and was so hard to lose Pollyanna, but I know it was the right choice. You made it so easy for Polly. You were so gentle and caring. I am so grateful for the way you handled her. I am still feeling the loss, but so glad that I chose you for those last moments.

Bless you.

My husband and I want to thank Dr. Katie for her kindness and compassion in helping our little girl, Chelsea, pass from this life with dignity and ease. Three years ago Dr. Katie assisted with our dear Skylyr. I can’t imagine having to go through what we did unless we were in our own home–it made a tremendous difference and we can’t thank Dr. Katie enough for making that possible.

Dr. Hilst was great. Our cat took a major and fast decline. Dr. Hilst was able to accommodate a same day service. She was compassionate and kind in this difficult time. I would absolutely recommend her. It is a decision you hope to never have to make— but when you have to make it was nice to have Dr. Hilst’s kindness and professionalism on your side.
