Thanks to you, Tipper’s passing was painless and compassionate. My fears of facing his death were vanquished, when you helped us both with his passing. Because you came to our home, he was able to be free of fear at the end, and stay his own sweet self. I can’t thank you enough!

An Angel of Mercy named Katie Hilst came to my home to help my companion of 13 1/2 years, Abbey, on her journey to the Rainbow Bridge.

Dr. Katie Hilst is a kind, compassionate, caring veterinarian who with grace, gentleness, and love made the transition for Abbey so peaceful.

Losing Abbey has been painful for me, but I take great comfort when I think of how wonderfully Dr. Hilst treated Abbey in her final moments.

Thank you Dr. Katie for helping us with a very difficult decision. Our precious one went peacefully.

We’ll never forget him.

Thank you Dr. Katie for helping my daughter yesterday end the suffering of her beloved kitty. It was such a relief to have you come right to her, without causing her more distress. While we are still heartbroken, I know it was for the best and we are relieved to know she is no longer suffering. While I hope to NEVER need your services again, I have to say that in home is by far the least traumatic on everybody. Thank you again.

It has been just over a month since you came out to our house for Aladdin. I had been meaning to write something sooner, but we have been coming to terms with a whole lot of change.

I did however want to say that your service was something I had not expected. It definitely helped us to accept what needed to be done. Additionally, it left us knowing we not only did the right thing, but able to remember our Aladdin without to many tears.

I honestly feel that had it not been for your service, we wouldn’t have been ready to open our house again for a long time. As it turns out, we had decided to bring a donation of dog food to a shelter that was in need of it. While doing that, we found a fox terrier mix that needed a good place to live. She’s overly timid having been a rescue from a hording situation, but I see a lot of personality under that shyness. We are picking her up this weekend.

It seems I have a few friends that are getting close to being in a similar situation, and I have definitely expressed my support of your home service. I even included it in my farewell post for him I wrote the day after.

Again, thank you for such a wonderful service. The paw prints you made for us are in shadow boxes and sitting on our mantle right now.

Katie, Thank you so much for what you did for me and Jasmine. You have a heart so big to do this for people, and you made me feel comfortable about the whole experience, and I will never forget you. God Bless you.

One year ago today, you came to my home to help my kitty, Jasper, on to the next chapter of his adventure. It was too hard for me to thank you properly at the time, but today seemed like an appropriate day to let you know just how much I appreciate your kindness and help.

Just ten days ago, we had to put Anastasia to sleep (I don’t know if you remember us or not – she was the white one with the black nose) and I wished fiercely that we still lived in Madison for you to come help see her off as well. Here in California, it is a whole different beast for in home euthanasia ($500!!!) and, sadly, I had to take her in to the vet.

I sincerely appreciate the compassionate and supportive care Dr. Hilst was able to provide in the last moments I had with my cat

Corkey

I sincerely appreciate the compassionate and supportive care Dr. Hilst was able to provide in the last moments I had with my cat, Corkey. In a sensitive and delicate situation, Dr. Hilst brought peace with a gentle touch. She was flexible (able to provide same day visit with my cat’s sudden change in condition), and above all, she was kind and understanding. After her visit, I was confident I made the right decision in relieving my cat’s suffering. Thank you, Dr. Hilst, for bringing strength, guidance and peace in a time consumed with grief and pain. Thank you for what you do.

Snuffy

Our dog Snuffy was so sick when we made the heart breaking decision to put her down. Dr. Hilst was gentle and caring with Snuffy during her final hour. Being able to say goodbye in the comfort of our own home meant a lot to me.

Baron

I can’t say enough good things about Dr. Katie Hilst. She is extremely compassionate and caring and was able to make a tough situation a little bit easier. She let us take our time in saying good-bye. In turn, Baron passed in the comfort of his own home and went peacefully.

Thank you Dr. Hilst!
