I had to put my cat to sleep yesterday, and was feeling so guilty. I ran across your article on the web about “is euthanasia playing God“. I’m Christian, too, and believe animals go to Heaven. Your perspective was a great comfort to me. Just wanted to say thank you. You blessed me with a bit more peace.
It was an extremely tough decision for me to come to the conclusion that my 20 year old cat, Hook, was reaching the end of her life. She had been a very healthy cat up until the last year, so a trip to the vet was very rare for her. I dreaded the thought of having her last moments in a cold, sterile vet’s office, where I’m sure she would have been stressed and scared. I am so thankful that I found Journeys Home. Dr. Laura couldn’t have been more sweet and compassionate. In spite of the very sad, difficult situation, I felt a little more at ease.

Today is the one year mark of my sweet Shadow’s passing. I received your card and forget me not seed packet in today’s mail. Thank you so much. It means so very much to me that you took the time to send this. It’s hard for others to understand the grief I feel. I miss her. Will love her always. Thank you again.
Dr Laura was very compassionate and was able to come on a Sunday to help our baby over the rainbow bridge. She was able to pass gently and Dr Laura was so reassuring and supportive of our choice to end her suffering. Couldn’t have had a better send off to our beloved.
Thank you for making a very sad and heartbreaking moment peaceful and dare I say beautiful. I cannot thank you enough for the kindness and gentle care you showed Georgie before, during, and after she passed away. I would not have wanted the moment to be any different.
The entire process was respectful. You were so loving that I felt like you had known us forever. I am grateful to have had you with Georgie and me at such a personal and emotional time.
You are a strong, kind, and special person to do what you do. You bring comfort and peace to a heartbreaking situation. Thank you for all you do.
On behalf of myself, Dennis and Mike, I cannot thank you enough, Katie, for your professionalism, expertise, kindness and sincere compassion in helping the three of us through the process of saying our final goodbyes to our dear chowpanion Nicholas. Although it was extremely difficult and heart breaking to have to say this final goodbye to Nicholas, you made the entire process as easy and comforting as it could possibly be. We thank you from the bottom of our hearts for your services and are so happy that Journeys Home Pet was there for us! We will definitely be recommending Journeys to anyone who is facing their final days with their beloved companion.
Thank you for your wonderful valuable service… you were kind & compassionate. I’m so grateful Charlie was able to stay at home.
I would like to thank Journeys Home for their compassion and understanding. They listen and are loving and most helpful when you need them.
I want to say thank you to Dr. Purdy for being so kind, compassionate, and understanding. Today was a tough day, but her kind words and outstanding service made things easier.
I wanted to thank Dr. Laura for helping Indie leave us peacefully. Dr. Laura was remarkable in that she made one of the most difficult moments of my life, that I was fearing would be beyond horrific, into something bearable and peaceful. Her demeanor and attentive nature were so calming and comforting. While I’m sure that working in this profession can be exhausting, please know how much of an amazing impact you have on those four-legged and two-legged patrons. Thank you cannot cover the gratitude I feel.
