Lambeau

This is our sweet, beautiful, handsome Lambeau, & we were blessed to have 17 years with this sweet snugglebug. Yesterday he went on to be with his brother Lombardi, where he can run, play, jump, climb, & do all the things his body just wouldn’t let him do anymore.

We got him as a baby, maybe 5’ish weeks old, so yes, an incredible, unbreakable bond. Car rides where he’d sit on my lap, licking the foil of my yogurt, then giving me looks until I hurried up & finished so he could lick out the container, giving me dirty looks if I was sitting in ‘his chair’, then jumping up in it while the shadow of my backside was still in it & looking at me like ‘you do know that’s MY chair, right?’…

Jumping up on the couch with Daddy for lunch time & seeing what snacks his ‘sultry bedroom eyes’ could get… little mooch 😉 He’d come & find me to fill his dish, leading me to it & stopping every few steps to make sure I was still following him, he’d do the same with the litter box to scoop it. Feeding time I’d have to feed him separately & when he’d mash the food to the sides of the dish, I’d have to take the spoon & spoon it back to the center, he’d actually stop eating, look at the spoon, look at me, then wait for me to do this before he’d start again, then the last few days, those last bits, feed him off the spoon.

I ALWAYS told him he was my favorite, ‘It’s ok, they already know anyway’ (they being the new babies we got last June). I also reminded him every chance I got that he’s ‘My #1 boy, I’m Lambeau’s Mommy first’, & I love him the most, ‘forever & a day’. He certainly had me trained. I won’t go into that ‘last day’, we just knew it was time & losing him is something I may never completely ‘get over’. He will always be my favorite snugglebug.
