Maximus was my loyal companion from my college days to my motherhood days. He welcomed everyone with the biggest smile. He never showed an ounce of jealousy each time we brought a new baby home from the hospital. Maximus loves our children. He took joy in our chaotic home.
I knew Maximus deserved a peaceful passing at home. Today, was incredibly difficult and one the hardest decisions, but today was also peaceful. He didn’t show any signs of anxiety, enjoyed a walk, had allllll wet dog food (his favorite), was surrounded but everyone he loved, he was being petted and kissed, and had the joy of licking cheese whiz until he fell asleep. No fear, but pure love crossing the rainbow bridge.
