Jasmine was an American Staffordshire Terrier (probably mixed), picked up as a one-year-old stray living on her own for a couple of months after devastating floods in northern Arkansas. She was skin and bones and full of cestodes. Obviously she made a full recovery with us. She could outrun a cheetah up until the end.
Thank you so much, Dr. Schaller, for your kindness and understanding to us and your tenderness and compassion to Jasmine last week. As when Dr. Purdy tended to Maggie Mae last year, you instantly set Jasmine at ease and she relaxed and trusted you. It has turned a very sad and difficult moment for all of us into a moment we will treasure in time as we re-live her passing peacefully and painlessly to her next life, and at her own home, yard, and woods, and with the family that loves her so dearly.

When you are sorrowful look again in your heart and you shall see that in truth you are weeping for that which has been your delight. – Kahil Gibran
