Hugo

We adopted Hugo from the Dane County Humane Society on June 27, 2019. He was 14 1/2 years old and had been picked up as a stray. My husband and I met Hugo and we fell in love with him. We weren’t planning on adopting a second dog, but we didn’t think a senior dog would get adopted quickly, so we did and what a find we found in Hugo!

Hugo was such a regal handsome boy who loved playing with our three year old dog as much as he could. He always had a smile on his face especially when he was playing. Hugo loved walks, laying in the sun, watching for squirrels and walks at McCarthy County Park. He loved eating McDonald’s hamburgers, cheese, chicken, steak, homemade turkey treats and doggy ice cream.

Of all the things he loved, he absolutely adored my husband! He would follow him wherever he went and was so happy to be with him. My husband loved Hugo very much and the bond they had was so special and once in a lifetime.

Although we only had Hugo for 1 1/2 years, he was such a joy to have in our lives and he will always be in our hearts and will never be forgotten.

We love you Hugo!

Hugo crossed over the Rainbow Bridge on December 19, 2020 with the caring assistance of Dr. Katie Weber.
