It’s been a long, lonely, year – today I had to say goodbye to Toby. Toby was a noble but sweet, affectionate friend who always put his hand on yours. He loved people, loved being by people and to talk to them in his very loud voice. For him a stranger was a friend he had not yet met.
He was always afraid of being left behind and it was important that he should pass at home where he knew I could be with him even up until the end.
