Isthmus Article: Saying goodbye to furry friends

This week’s Isthmus had an article about my services. [icon_link style=”chain” href=”http://www.isthmus.com/isthmus/article.php?article=43566″ color=”gray” target=”blank”]Read “A local vet specializes in grief companioning and in-home services”[/icon_link]

A kind letter-to-editor in response:

Katie was kind, caring and professional. Clearly she meets a need, and I hail her for taking on this task.

Some details clarify:

  • From Katie Hilst on 09/12/14 at 11:47 amJay- Thank you so much for the wonderful article! I wanted to clarify- I am certified in Pet Loss and Grief Companioning, not counseling. Grief counselors are wonderful professionals who have years of education and help folks through issues surrounding loss and grief. My certification in Grief Companioning is about walking with the person during their loss journey, listening and supporting them in a non- judgemental way that hopefully allows them to move forward in their healing process. My home business started in 2007 (not 2001), and I invite everyone to Dane County Humane Society’s Remembering Our Pets event being held this Sunday, September 14th from 1-2:30 pm.Take good care! Katie Hilst, DVM

Oh and … Remembering Our Pets at DCHS was not mention but please do join me this weekend. Read more!
